Position Title: Director, Enterprise Business Development

Location: Remote (U.S. Based)

In this role, you won't be tied to a specified geographic territory and will be unrestricted in your ability to hunt new business. You'll have the opportunity to do your best work by leveraging our extensive portfolio of innovative offerings and focusing your energy and efforts on generating engagement with prospects and winning new business. As part of our team, you'll be able to capitalize on our collaborative working environment, including sales subject matter experts; a selling team of colleagues with deep expertise in complex consultative selling; and a close working relationship with the marketing, enablement, and client delivery teams. Your earning potential will be uncapped, and the possibility to achieve financial reward will correlate directly with your effort.

As an experienced seller, you will masterfully lead high-level sales conversations using the RAIN Group methodology. In selling our sales training solutions, you'll embody and advocate for RAIN Group's proven sales processes, demonstrating their impact to prospective clients and showcasing how our approach drives success. We’ll value your expertise and strategic insights, and you'll report directly to our senior leadership team, contributing to the growth and evolution of our business.


About You

If you’ve achieved a high level of success in your recent roles, we expect you'll be results-focused, an extraordinary communicator with both words and numbers, and have keen attention to detail. We're also looking for the following:

  • 10 or more years in sales as an individual contributor
  • Verifiable history of sales success in business-to-business, complex, enterprise-level sales
  • Experience selling to senior executives in large and mid-size companies in the Fortune 500
  • Proven ability to sell proactively in a consultative, client-focused manner
  • Passion, commitment, intensity, and focus on winning new clients
  • Expert at driving demand by persuasively sharing insights and new ideas with buyers
  • Confidence, gravitas and (appropriate) assertiveness, including the ability to take control and lead discussions, and defend a point of view
  • Ability to self-motivate and think creatively
  • Strong conceptual thinking skill and business acumen
  • Emotional intelligence, with the ability to manage your own and others’ emotions
  • Unwavering integrity, conviction, and objective judgment
  • A high level of comfort interacting with executives both internally and externally
  • Industry contacts and connections a plus
  • Established success working in a remote environment 

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect custom solutions, following extensive needs discovery, which leverage the full spectrum of RAIN Group’s comprehensive education system
  • Tailor discussion documents and proposals to reflect each prospective client’s unique needs
  • Manage, nurture, and grow key accounts
  • Negotiate and maintain premium pricing
  • Collaborate with team members to source and win sales, and ensure successful transitions from sales to delivery
  • Travel when appropriate to meet prospects and clients face-to-face

Position Requirements

  • Undergraduate/bachelor's degree
  • Experience selling corporate training, business consulting, and/or related offerings strongly preferred; willing to consider candidates with experience selling within other service industries
  • Occasional travel
